Awesome poem!
When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'."
I'm whispering "I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven."
When I say..."I am a Christian" I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible but, God believes I am worth itl.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who recieved God's good grace somehow!

Courting vs. Dating??
So, the question is often asked, "Should I court or date?" This can be a very opinated topic and many people feel strongly one way or the other, but hopefully this post will help you see that it is not one or the other, but that it is about the heart. Each person has a different idea of courting. Some are more conservative and some are not. Some have a conservative idea of dating and some do not. Each persons’ idea is different. By Webster’s definition....
Dating: To have a date with
Courting: To engage in social activities within seek of engagement.
I will be honest with you girls from the beginning... I have no problem with a girl dating a guy (I've done it myself), but I'm also very pro courting. What is the difference between the two? The main difference I see is that courting has the main purpose of leading to marriage where dating is often get together and break up the next day. My personal stand on this whole issue though is it is not what you call it, but how you handle it! I've known people who courted who got into just as much sin as people who dated did. I've also known plenty of people who dated who had a completely God honoring relationship. So, it is not about what you call it that makes one better than the other. It is how YOU act that makes the difference. It is often said that when dating you have more time alone and this can be true. Does it have to be though? Couples who are courting also have many opportunities to be alone. It is up to the couple to choose whether they take those opportunities or not. Do courting couples often stay further away from sexual sin? Some do and some don’t. It is the same exact thing with people who have dated.
Now I’m sure I have some of you pretty upset seeing that many of you have parents who only allow courting and that’s all you've ever really been allowed to do. That is great! Go thank your parents for that! My whole point in this is to make you realize that it is not what you call it that makes it ok or not it is what you do and how you act that makes it ok or not! Just like going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, courting does not make you pure. Also, to any parents who read my blog.... Just b/c your child courts and does not date, this is not an "I'm safe from anything happening" Seek God.... See what HE wants you to do! It may be date, court, or somewhere in the middle! As I’ve said time and time before, you know where you struggle and if dating causes to many temptations then do not do it!
I do believe that courting has one VERY strong pull and that is that it generally is wayyyyyy more focused on marriage. I see girls who date guy after guy and it becomes nothing for them to break up and a broken heart almost becomes nothing. is this the way it is suppose to be? NO! Dating was never mentioned in the Bible. The purpose of dating is to find the one and only man you will marry. I am not for any other kind. It is not ok to date just for fun... dating is not a game. This is where courting generally helps cut down on the breakups and in the long run saves many broken hearts.
Girls, talk to your parents! See what they think about it. Maybe you feel that dating is ok, but they do not. This is when you have to choose to obey them even if it isn’t what you want to do. They have your best interest at heart and they know you better than you think they do. Trust and obey them b/c I promise you that if you go behind their back and date a guy God will not bless your relationship.
Praying for you!

Thought Filled Thursday!
First off, sorry for the delay in post... my grandfather was admitted to the hospital a couple of days ago due to pretty bad pneumonia and I've been staying with him and my grandmother most of the time. Needless to say, blogging was not my top priority! :)
Thought.... If you were to die tonight where would you spend eternity?
With love,

From a broken hearted Alabamian...
Many of you commented on the post before this one and I thank you for that! If you have not read it please go back and do so that way this post will make sense.
It has been a little over 72 hours since the horrid tornado's swept through Alabama and many other surrounding states. I've thought alot about what I was going to write and how i would try to describe the feelings that we all have. I honestly believe that it is impossible to describe. I personally have not been to any of the hit areas (They are still not allowing volunteers to really come in yet. Many places they are still digging through the rubble to look for bodies.), but i have seen multitudes of pictures, videos, stories, and testimonies. We have all been glued to the news as they updated the death toll. Last i heard was for Alabama alone it was right around 300. 300 lives... gone. For me personally it doesn't seem fair. Not that this happened to my friends (Of course that part doesn't seem fair!), but that my house was untouched. Not a single tree down, the lights never flickered, and i still have perfectly clean water ( many parts of the state are having to biol their water if they even have water). It doesn't seem right. Within an hour each way of my home lives of thousands and thousands have been changed forever, yet my life could go on as normal. It isn't right. Moving on though, there is such a sadness in Alabama. Every where you go people are talking about it. Each one of us have friends, school mates, family, and neighbors who's lives will never be the same. At the same time though it is been absolutely amazing how our amazing state/country has pulled together to help out. Unless you are in Alabama you can not fathom the support, donations, love, sympathy, prayers, and just all around God's love that has been shown!! It is so deeply humbling. Companies on top of companies are just giving relentlessly. Power companies for all over the country are coming in. Volunteers from all over the country are just packing up and heading this way. Can i just say... THIS IS A GOD THING! Everyone seems to be giving something. It is utterly amazing. If you know much about football and Alabama you know how big the rivalry between Alabama and Auburn is. Terrible crimes have been committed out of hate for the other team in the past. Although now they are coming together and as one as the body of Christ supporting the hurting. It is such a beautiful thing to watch. If you have fb check out http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Toomers-for-Tuscaloosa/127019264041188 It is a sight started by an Auburn fan to help the Alabama fans! It made me cry just reading everyone wanting to help out!
With all this said.... Please pray. Lives all over the state have literally been ripped apart. I know that I have many followers who are from out of state. Please first off pray for use, but also if you would like to send money I can without a doubt get it to the right place to help the victims. Also, there are many people making shirts and bracelets to help raise money for the victims. If you are interested in any of those please e-mail me at jennifer.rochester@charter.net. God is working and I truly believe HE will be glorified through this!! Below are some more pics (Not sure who took them), a few verses that we are all clinging to and a song that has been on my heart constantly!

This use to be Full Moon BBQ...
Utter devastation...
Psalm 34:18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Nehemiah 8:10b Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
God of this City- By: Chris Tomlin
[Verse 1]
You're the God of this City
You're the King of these people
You're the Lord of this nation
You are
[Verse 2]
You're the Light in this darkness
You're the Hope to the hopeless
You're the Peace to the restless
You are
There is no one like our God
There is no one like our God
[Chorus]
For greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done in this City
Greater thing have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done in this City

URGENT PRAYER NEEDED!!
I just wanted to ask you fellow bloggers to please be praying for Alabama and the massive devastation that happened yesterday due to tornados and winds. The total so far today for deaths is right around 160. I've heard also that many states in the south east have had flooding and tornados like Alabama did. I ask you to pray as many people have lost everything they had and also lost family members! Note-the pics below are none that I have taken, but are within 50 miles of my home. You see things like this happen in other parts of the country or world, but you never expect it to happen near you! Just to give you a guide... for any of you who love football and know of the Alabama Crimson Tide many of the pics were from their city, Tuscaloosa. Prayers are appreciated! May God get the glory through this!
Prayers appreciated...
